Kari completed her Masters and PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Melbourne. She has worked clinically in various settings, including research hospitals, outpatient clinics, community organisations, and refugee specialist services. She has published technical reports and academic articles relating to distress, trauma, adjustment, and adversity, and has developed and evaluated various trauma-focused training and intervention programs and resources.
Kari works in an empathic, collaborative, and transparent way to support people to move past trauma and hardship, overcome mental distress and disorder, and realise their personal strengths. She specialises in the treatment of adults with trauma and anxiety-related disorders. Kari has a strong commitment to evidence-based practice and is trained in various therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and transdiagnostic treatment approaches for emotional disorders.
Kari works primarily with adults who have experienced trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), grief, stress, burnout, anxiety, phobia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, relationship difficulties, and depression.
